On February 17, 2026, the Electrical Engineering Department at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) hosted a seminar titled “Testing and Control of EV Charging and Energy Storage in Smart Electrification Systems,” delivered by Dr. Muhammad Khalid (Professor of Electrical Engineering and Senior Research Scholar for Sustainable Energy Systems at KFUPM).
During the seminar, Dr. Khalid provided a high-level overview of smart electrification solutions, with a focus on EV charging testing and control, as well as battery energy storage testing for safety, reliability, and performance evaluation. He highlighted how systematic testing and control strategies can support dependable operation as electrification technologies continue to expand across modern energy systems.
Dr. Khalid also discussed key laboratory capabilities, available data resources, and broad research directions in this area. He outlined opportunities for collaboration and graduate student engagement, encouraging participants to explore research pathways connected to smart electrification, energy storage, and related power and transportation applications.
