On December 3, 2025, the Electrical Engineering (EE) Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) hosted a seminar titled “Innovative Energy Efficiency Solutions: Paving the Path to Sustainability.” The seminar was delivered by Mr. Thamer Alharbi, Business Development Manager for ABB Motion Saudi Arabia.

The talk emphasized that energy efficiency is one of the fastest and most effective pathways to reduce energy use, lower operational costs, and support long-term sustainability goals. Mr. Alharbi presented innovative motor, drive, and digital solutions that help industries improve energy performance, with practical examples of how these technologies can be deployed to enhance efficiency across industrial processes.

A key part of the seminar focused on real-world applications in pumps, fans, compressors, and HVAC systems, supported by case studies from Saudi Arabia and the region. The session also highlighted how energy-efficiency initiatives align with Vision 2030, contribute to decarbonization, and enable more sustainable industrial operations—offering engineers, managers, and students actionable ideas they can apply within their own organizations.
