Grid Modernization Research Area Seminar
On November 5, 2024, the Grid Modernization Research Area hosted a seminar titled Grid Modernization Research Activities at the EE Department – Current Work and Innovation Trends. The event featured presentations by Dr. Fahad Al-Ismail, the research area coordinator, alongside Dr. Muhammad Shaikh, Dr. Umer Khan, Dr. Tarek Younis, Dr. Abdulaziz Qwbaiban, and Dr. Ahmed Alahmed, who are all affiliated with the research area. 

The seminar highlighted innovative strategies driving the integration of sustainable energy resources into modern power grids. Key topics included the transformative role of digitalization and IoT technologies in advancing cybersecurity systems and harnessing data analytics to optimize grid planning, operations, and control. These cutting-edge developments are setting new standards for building a resilient, reliable, intelligent, and secure cyber-physical power grid.
