On September 17, 2024, the Optics and Photonics Research Area hosted a seminar titled "Distributed Thermal Sensing for High-Power Switching Devices Using Optical Sensors and Machine Learning Techniques." The session, led by Research Area Coordinator Dr. Khurram Qureshi, introduced attendees to the research field and focused on how optical sensors and machine learning enable real-time thermal monitoring in high-power switching devices. The seminar highlighted the ways these technologies enhance system performance, improve monitoring, and prevent overheating or failures.
